A bit about the role

We have an exciting and highly rewarding opportunity for a data professional early in their career to join our high-performing team in our West Perth head office.

As Junior Data Analyst, you will be involved in shaping the future direction of INX; creating solutions and building competitive advantage for our business across our Australian and international markets.

As part of the small, but highly experienced Data & Analytics team, you will be an integral part of achieving successful outcomes. Working with a wealth of customer and operational data using our modern data platform (anchored around Snowflake), you will be responsible for performing data structuring, data analysis, modelling and visualisations to help answer analytics use cases and business problems for INX stakeholders. Additionally, you will be supporting the delivery of client consulting projects, and helping to build new data products and solutions to meet our client needs.

This role is hands-on and consultative within the business. We are looking for individual with a curious and inquisitive mind, looking to step into a position to explore and create an impact. We know this is a very exciting opportunity, but there are a few things we need from you in order to help you succeed:

• Junior Data Analyst is an entry level role within the Analytics & Insights team – typically between 0-2 years’ experience.
• Experience in using programming languages to query and structure data for analysis or reporting purposes (experience using SQL and/or Python an advantage)
• Experience with manipulating a variety of common structures (e.g. databases) and semi-structured data sets (e.g. text files, delimited files, JSON, XML)
• Experience in analysing data using analytics tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, MS Excel, and/or using languages such as R, Python
• Experience in engaging with and communicating analysis findings to business stakeholders
• Experience in using modern visualisations tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI) an advantage
• Experience with ETL tools and scripting languages to build data pipelines and/or data warehouses an advantage
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value
• Any experience or knowledge of the financial services industry would be beneficial, but not mandatory
• Tertiary level qualifications in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Commerce, Engineering or equivalent.
